Magic Memories - either re-awakened or begun anew! Your kids or grandkids (in my case) deserve the classic tales of the Bobbsey Twins - let them follow the daily life adventures of a family that has two sets of twins, one older and one younger. My grandkids love these books, and we read a chapter or more to them each night and now they can't wait for bed.
The end of each chapter has a good cliff-hanger to arouse interest in the next chapter & that still works, despite the fact that these are classic children's books, and not written yesterday. These are stories that are exciting and positive in nature, not about warlocks or vampires, but yet still have their charming adventures, buried treasure, shipwrecks, sailing on ships, and camping, thinks that will fascinate your children today as they did yesterday when they were first written. We started reading these heartwarming books when the grandchildren were just about 4 - & they are perfect for their attention span and imagination.
My daughter said to remind you that the kids now look forward to bed and one chapter!
Highly recommend - enjoy your kids or grandkids while they are still young - with the Bobbsey Twins!
What a truly delightful surprise to find these original (re-released) editions of the Bobbsey Twins! These were books that all the girls and women in our large family grew up with, and sadly have faded away from, until now. I found these by accident, here on and ordered each one, for all the girls in the family, and for some of us older set to use to read to the very young ones. I think those of us who remembered them were really overjoyed to share their experiences with the younger kids.
Now that everyone is enjoying them, I can tell you that these charming, enchanting stories can create or re-create that bond that parent or grandparent has with their child when reading to them in bed. To see them eager to want to rush to bed to hear the next chapter, to fall asleep with a smile on their faces, or to march around the room with their favorite Twins book, as they treasure the stories as much as we did.
Since the books were written long before computer games and such, I have found that kids respond more to the stories as they are about real world adventurous like trips to the country, to trips to another city, visiting a farm, or on a boat, things that open the eyes of youngsters, to a REAL world, not the virtual world of TVs or computers.
I think The Bobbsey Twins will help build our kids future, ironically, by grounding them to the past.
These books sparked a lifelong love of reading with our family, and I'm sure they will with yours too!
I had never read the Bobbsey Twins series and found them to be wonderful. Yes, they are for young adults but this adult loved them. The twins are entertaining and interesting. I wish everyone would read this series.
Read these books as a child and was fun to return to the fond memories. They were always doing something interesting.
