Sipping a Mix of Verse eBook Denise Baer
Denise Baer offers the reader a delicious bitter sweet offering of poetry bonbons. Some chewy like "i am bard," with it's wonderful rhythms and style. Crunchy as "Balderdash Day, creamy soft centered poems of love and loss, and the hard candy of "Shotgun." The whole lot, and it is a massive amount of variety, is sprinkled throughout with delicious visual vignettes. I am certainly looking forward to reading more of this authors creativity.Product details

Sipping a Mix of Verse eBook Denise Baer Reviews
I have never been a person to pick up a poetry book, but the wonderful poems I caught on Denise's blog made me want to get this as soon as it was available. Poetry fan or not, you will enjoy this great treasure!!
I accidentally discovered Denise Baer's poetry on Good Reads, where she posted one of her poems. Although being quite intrigued by what I read I wasn't too sure this newcomer would be able to sustain the same high standard throughout a whole book. Eventually I decided to go for it and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I was even more intrigued. What a book! Her powerful imagery ("Cherokee drums inside my chest)" and her beautifully crafted words ("Absent from a melting pot of feelings)" captured me and sparked my imagination from the very first verse. In addition, the poems are presented with loving attention to detail, since the author is also a gifted photographer with an eye for the remarkable. All in all, the book is well worth its money and hopefully not her last poetry book, since she is also about to publish a psychological suspense novel at the end of this year. I'll be curious to find out if it rivals the quality of her poems. After all it's a big difference from poetry...
A delightful and heartfelt collection of stunning and engaging prose. With titles such as Shotgun, Forgive Myself and Chocolate Therapy, this debut author skillfully paints her words. The pictures are equally as lovely. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Baer's work.
The poems in this collection offer a wide variety of approaches as well as capturing a myriad of emotions. Like all true poets, Denise Baer takes great care with her words. She also fearlessly experiments with a number of topics which most readers can relate to. Her poetry is readable and pleasant to the ear, but upon multiple readings, deeper meaning and elements of craft begin to reveal themselves. In particular, I enjoyed "DAsh," "Bucket List," and "Failure."
